Why should you take it?

Fruity, punchy and dry

I introduce Sachihime Karakuchi Junmai as a "unique and memorable dry sake". When you approach the sake, a melon-type aroma slowly wafts in, and the mouth has a punchy first impression. And it has a clean and crisp finish.

The raw material is table rice "Sagabiyori" from Saga Prefecture, with a rice polising ration of 70%. In other words, only 30% of the outer layer of table rice is removed. This specification is very interesting, and the flavor of the rice grown in the rich soil of Saga Prefecture, which faces the Ariake Sea, is thought to have a significant impact on the sake's powerful flavor.

Taking advantage of the sake brewery's "small" size, this sake is made with attention to detail in the brewing process. The brewer's philosophy and techniques are directly reflected in the sake.

Brewery

Sachihime shuzo

Sachihime Shuzo was founded in 1934 in Kashima, Saga Prefecture. It is the youngest and smallest of the six breweries in this small town of 30,000 people. Because sake is carefully brewed in small tanks, it is not mass-produced. Instead, the brewery takes advantage of the characteristics of small quantities to manage the balance of temperature, water temperature, and sake rice production in pursuit of the ideal "brewery taste. Also nearby is Yutokuinari Shrine, one of Japan's three major rice harvest shrines, and the brewery is the designated sacred sake brewer for this shrine.

Sachihime Shuzo is also taking on the challenge of bringing sake to new markets, offering sake brewery tours and tastings. In addition, its 0% alcohol sake soft serve ice cream, which is safe for children, people who cannot drink alcohol, and drivers, has grown into a popular product that has been featured on TV and in the media.

In addition, the company actively participates in various contests and has won prizes at the International Wine Challenge in England, the National Sake Competition in the United States, the Australian Sake Awards in Australia, and the SAKE COMPETITION in Japan.

Area

Kashima / Saga

When you fly into Saga Prefecture, you will see the Ariake Sea before you land. The tidal range of the Ariake Sea is as great as 6 to 7 meters. The fertile tidal flats are home to a wide variety of creatures unique to the Ariake Sea, such as mutsumigoro and shiomaneki, and local delights await you, such as tidal flat experiences. For example, at Michi-no-Eki Kashima (Roadside Station Kashima), visitors can experience tidal flats by taking a full-body dip in the mudflats.

Kashima, Saga Prefecture, is one of the leading sake brewing areas in the prefecture. The 600-meter-long warehouse street of Hizen Hamashuku is lined with old buildings built from the Edo period to the early Showa period, and is now selected as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The old streets feel cool and exciting just walking around.

Kashima Sake Brewery Tourism, which tours sake breweries in the cities of Kashima and Ureshino in Saga Prefecture, is held during the "kurabiraki" season and attracts more than 100,000 visitors. The program has received the Grand Prize of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Furusato Zukuri Grand Award" for its tourism efforts that make use of sake breweries.
